Open Question: what is a good theme I can decorate my sons room in?

my son will be almost 2 by the time we get our house. I was thinking sports at first, but that may be too old for him. Then I thought about fish because he loves his pet fish. I don't want to do nemo because that can become out of style, but I can't find anymore friendly kiddy looking fish. Then I thought about doing it in letters, numbers, and colors. I am stuck....
